Cornell University is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. In 2025 we Built a Bridge to the Future by collecting $22,150 for our scholarship fund. Four local students received scholarships totaling $21,975. This year, we are helping our Suncoast Scholars achieve their Big Red Dreams. Please help our local students by contributing to our scholarship fund. Every gift, small or large, impacts the availability of money for our students from Sarasota-Manatee who are attending Cornell and who demonstrate need for financial assistance. To learn more about the amazing students who are currently attending Cornell, view the presentation (CCSM Members only; please log in first) that was shown at our January 2025 luncheon where we honored our 19 local students and their parents/guardians. How Our Fund Works
The Cornell Club of Sarasota-Manatee Scholarship Fund is an endowed scholarship fund, administered by Cornell and used to supplement the financial aid given to our local students. Cornell collects the gifts and designates them for local students, decides how to invest the money and how much money is paid out each year, and determines which local students receive the money.
Cornell manages endowed funds like ours to last in perpetuity. To this end, each year Cornell allocates a percentage to determine that year’s payout amount. Below are the numbers for our fund:
| Market Value as of September 30, 2025 | $665,059 |
| FY 2025 Payout | $21,975 |
| FY 2025 Number of Recipients | 4 |
| FY 2026 Projected Payout | $23,851 |
